Using Mirrors in a Small Bathroom

Help create the feeling of more space by using mirrors in your bathroom. Mirrors help make small spaces seem larger, because they reflect light.

- Use a wall-to-wall mirror at the end of a narrow bathroom to increase the apparent size of the room.

- Add a fancy frame (or one that reflects your decor) to give your bathroom the look of furniture and coziness - it will add to the beauty of the room. A simple way is by attaching molding strips to a mirror.

Home Decorating Tips - How to Change a Rooms Dimension using Wall Pictures & Mirrors

The Basic Role of Pictures

Wall art plays an important role in interior design as it helps create the ambience of a room. By cleverly placing wall pictures in certain ways, you can change and create a new look and feel in a room.

The role wall pictures play in interior design are:-

  • pictures, mirrors or other ornamental accessories on walls help make the room look ”lived in” and they also inject your personality into the room;
  • color pictures and prints help connect with the rooms accent;
  • pictures help absorb noise in a room, otherwise a room with totally bare walls will sound empty and will have an echo;
  • pictures and prints can help enhance or change a room’’s ”look and feel”.

from MomGrind’s blog. We thought this was great - if they could see their butt, they probably wouldn’t wear the outfit. But then again…..

Butt Writing Confuses Me

Butt writing is one of the weirdest fashion trends of recent years.

I don’t know about you, but my home has it pretty good. A full length mirror in my bedroom, a brightly-lit mirror in my bathroom, and my boyfriend to give me his honest opinion. But my home does not have one thing. Friends, my home lacks a butt mirror.

Target dressing rooms, on the other hand, have this mirror. It’s surprisingly, refreshingly awesome. No more planting your hips squarely forward while you twist your neck around, catching a glimpse for three painful seconds. No more listening to a salesperson’s pandering flattery. No more worrying about the question that has plagued women since the dawn of pants: How does my butt look in these?

I just bought pants at Target, and let me tell you, the butt mirror sealed the deal. It’s at just the right angle to allow for a full viewing, like I was standing behind myself and checking myself out. And although I was undecided on the front of the pants, the back of the pants looked, in my opinion, well, okay. I thought it looked good.

Target, I’d rather try on clothes in your store than bring them home. Your dressing rooms are certainly no palace. But they have what no average residence contains. That infinitely wise, truth-bearing, all-knowing and all-illuminating butt mirror.

The domestic manufacturer, almost as extinct as the dodo bird, is starting to feel a revival of interest in getting things made in the USA.

Over the past twenty years, slowly, each year more and more products were being imported, mostly from China. Imported prices were exceedingly low in comparison to US goods and the declining number of retailers began buying imports.

First they bought from American importers, then from American manufacturers who went overseas with their designs, equipment and knowhow.

As the numbers of retailers declined the remaining retailers became juggernauts and decided there was no need for the middleman. They sent their own buyers and designers overseas to have merchandise made specifically for them.

Consumer choice diminished and the variety of goods shrunk. Retailers now had to make their decisions and commitments almost a year ahead. This was not much of a problem as sales per store grew a little each year. They were certain to sell out of their purchases with more or less profit depending on the mark-downs they were forced to take.

2008 became a turning point. Retail sales were abysmal, especially for the Christmas season. The Chinese are now reluctant to commit to pricing more than 30 to 60 days out. No one in retail management is willing to commit to long range purchases without knowing what the economy would be like. They still have to have merchandise in the stores.

Buyers in retail are finally starting to take a new hard look at the domestic manufacturer. The American manufacturer, in order to survive has learned how to cut costs, turn on a dime and expand the assortment of goods available.

The retailers are finding out that the difference in pricing between imports and domestic is not as large as expected, especially after taking into account the negatives of purchasing off-shore. There are NO letters of credit to open, there are shorter lead times, there is no large commitment in purchases necessary, there is an address to turn to when their are quality problems and… best of all, a buying trip, including a visit to the factory, can be completed within 24 hours or less.

Let’s hear it for the “Made in the USA” label.
