The wall/over the door mounted jewelry armoire is useful because it has a full length mirror which is the door of the armoire and it has another small mirror on the inside.

The inside mirror is for checking out the jewelry on you b\to make it easier to pick out which earring or necklace you wish to wear. When you have picked out the proper pieces and actually put them on, the full length mirror lets you check yourself out.

Opening the mirror door lets you see all your bling at one time.

WHAT A GREAT DESIGN. So useful.

“Now where did I put that matching earrings”

How often have you said that?

Now you can find all your earrings. They’re hung in the special earring holder inside the mirror door of your over the door jewelry armoire. 96 earrings (48 pairs) are right in front of your eyes.

That’s not all, you can hang 36 necklaces (or more), 96 rings and have 12 compartments for additional stuff.

Hold all your pins, clips, barrettes, watches and bracelets in the deep pocketed compartments.

Powell Furniture sold the original free standing Jewelry Armoire as a piece of furniture in 1985. It was so popular that it was copied over the the next 20 years in all manner of styles for Macy’s, bergdorf Goodman, JCPenney and others. QVC has been selling a cheval type mirror jewelry armoire and claims to have sold over 300,000 of them.

Mirrotek has improved on the same full length mirror style, by putting it on special brackets so it fits over the door. This space saving feature, which takes the original Jewelry Armoire idea OFF the floor and lets you hang it both on the inside or the outside of the door and you lose no storage space, while still giving you the use of a full lenght mirror to check yourself out with your “bling”.

One additional feature is the smaller additional mirror on the inside of the Jewelry Armoire. You can check out how your earrings and necklaces will look on you before even closing the mirrored door.

The cleopatra beauty center was designed to replace the standard vanity mirror or dressing table. It is shaped like a lipstick mirror and available in a variety of upholstery finishes including denim (jeans), brocade and for the wild….faux leopard fur. It has a seat or stool that has wheels so that you can move it as close as you want to the swing down make up table. Well, my daughter has started storing shoes in the seat. Surprisingly, it holds many shoes.

At about 14″ in diameter and 62″ high the tilt on this mirror means even the tall people can see their reflection.

Well, it wasn’t HSN or Joy Magnano that is certain.

David Bezborodko who founded Mechanical Mirror Works in 1942 (which later became Mirrotek International LLC), was making triple view mirrors, folding tripleview mirrors and dressing mirrors as early as 1950 and possibly in France pre-WWII. Here are some early ads for Dressing Mirrors and 4 panel mirrors, many of the stores mentioned are no longer in existence: Bamberger’s, Polsky’s, Foley’s, Gertz, Stern’s, Dayton’s, The Hingbee, and many more that no longer carry mirrors or wall furnishings.

Below are more catalogs dating from 1942 to the present of the original Professional Dressing Mirror, with 4 panel mirrors that fold to a regular door mirror. Starting in the 50s and 60s, MMW also added lights and vanity (table top) sizes. Proudly made in the U.S.A since 1942.
